#33 - The Day Off

 

 

        Walking out the mahogany double doors of your home, you glance at your Rolex by the illumination of the twin porch lights, adjust your tailor-made silk suit, and punch the button of the remote to disable the alarm of the Bentley Arnage parked in your brick driveway. 

        Settling into the leather seat, you glance one more time at the headline in the Wall Street Journal, then toss it next to you. You wind through the neighborhood of perfectly trimmed hedges, manicured lawns, and wrought iron gates, then follow the road to the freeway. 

        Once on the highway, you join the stop-and-go throng of commuters, with the attendant shaking of fists, wagging heads, and honking horns. Your office is only twelve miles from your home, but it takes over an hour to get there every morning. There’s nothing to do in the meantime but glance at the paper, and get started on your daily barrage of phone calls. 

        But it’s great. You’re CEO of a Fortune 100 company...
